United way is sharpening the focus of our three major strategy areas education, income and health. Follow the progress here.

To find out what people are thinking, we have engaged in 10 Community Conversations in geographically diverse areas of Jackson County. We also met with a group direct service providers and recently closed our public survey designed to help us find our focus. We're crunching the results now. Those we spoke with and those who filled out our survey in communities across Jackson County were incredibly generous with their time, ideas and best thinking about how to improve circumstances affecting people's lives.

The week of August 3 we are meeting with resource leaders across Jackson County who will provide to the process their expertise and knowledge. Over the coming months the Community Building Council will use what we have learned in this four month information gathering process to develop refined strategies which the board of directors will consider in December.
